Iodine is an important trace element that the body cannot produce and must be provided with food and water.
Iodine is particularly important for the production and proper activity of thyroid hormones, and is an essential regulator of energy metabolism and the function of the nervous system.
Functions of iodine in the human body:

The thyroid gland, which actively stores iodine, is most abundant in iodine. Without iodine it is impossible to produce thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3) in thyroid follicles, necessary for the proper functioning of all body cells.
Additional consultation with the attending physician is recommended in the event of thyroid disease, cardiovascular disease or taking diuretics.
