Zinc is an essential trace element of vital importance to the body.
At the cellular level, the function of zinc can be divided into three main categories: catalytic, structural and regulatory.
More than 50 zinc-dependent catalytic enzymes have been identified, and in total more than 300 enzymes are dependent on this element, which are involved in protein biosynthesis, have an influence on antioxidant activity and have an impact on the immune system.
Zinc affects the quality of skin, hair, nails and bones, but also directly or indirectly participates in the transformation of proteins, fats and carbohydrates, as well as energy metabolism, and is also necessary for the production or functioning of many hormones.
