NUION Magnesium

Magnesium is an essential element of significant importance for the body. In the liquid magnesium preparation Magnesium NUION a combination of carefully selected magnesium salts is used: magnesium chloride, magnesium citrate, magnesium ascorbate and magnesium succinate.

Magnesium citrate and magnesium succinate take part in carbohydrate metabolism (the so-called tricarboxylic acid cycle), which is necessary for intracellular ATP (adenosine triphosphate) production, the chemical form of energy in tissues and organs¹. Magnesium ascorbate easily penetrates cells through a special group of membrane ion transporters. Once inside the cell, it regulates redox reactions that require the ascorbate anion². This is why this salt provides the combined action of magnesium itself and ascorbic acid as an intracellular redox regulator.

It has been found that their combined bioavailability, assessed quantitatively using the area under the curve (AUC), as well as maximum concentration (Cmax) and time to maximum concentration (Tmax), is high and capable of ensuring rapid delivery of the nutrient to the target tissue.

Magnesium chloride dissolves very well in water, which makes it one of the most bioavailable forms of magnesium³. It easily permeates the cell membrane and increases intracellular magnesium concentration to the required level.⁴

The combined action of the four types of magnesium listed above makes this quartet so effective that even a small amount of the blend (15% NRV for magnesium) provides long-lasting, stable intracellular magnesium activity.
