Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera), also known as "Indian ginseng" or "winter cherry", is one of the best-studied plants used in traditional Ayurvedic medicine. Its most valuable constituents are withanolides – naturally occurring plant compounds belonging to the group of steroidal lactones, which have for many years been the subject of intensive research in the fields of phytochemistry, biochemistry and human physiology. Contemporary studies examine, among other things, the role of ashwagandha extract in the context of nervous system function, the body's adaptive processes, cognitive function, physical activity and the maintenance of redox balance.

Ashwagandha CALM combines the standardised KSM-66 Ashwagandha® extract with magnesium, taurine, zinc, lutein and biotin. This carefully selected composition includes ingredients commonly used in formulations intended for people leading an intensive lifestyle and exposed to everyday mental and physical exertion. Each ingredient performs different biochemical functions and participates in different metabolic processes in the body.

Taurine is a naturally occurring amino acid derivative present, among other places, in the brain, heart muscle and skeletal muscles. It takes part in numerous cellular processes and is the subject of research on its involvement in nervous system function and the maintenance of cellular ionic balance. Magnesium, in turn, contributes to normal functioning of the nervous system and normal muscle function, contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism and contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.

The formula is also complemented with zinc, which contributes to the normal function of the immune system and contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. Biotin contributes to normal functioning of the nervous system and contributes to the maintenance of normal skin, while lutein is a natural carotenoid widely found in plants and the subject of numerous studies on its biological properties.

The KSM-66 Ashwagandha® used in this product is one of the most extensively researched and standardised forms of ashwagandha root extract. It is obtained using a patented extraction process that preserves the characteristic profile of naturally occurring withanolides while ensuring a high degree of raw material standardisation.
